A brief overview of work I have done with all ages and abilities from Key stage 2 to new writers, teachers and Special Needs
Much of the education work that I do is based around a combination of synesthesia (the blending of one or more of the senses) and the development of linguistic and visual vocabularies. In gaining the 'back door' to our perceptions, the same techniques have helped children from primary school children , new designers, to actors ,writers and special needs groups to create visual work that does not rely on an individual's ability to draw or even write, but to simply to communicate.
Past projects have included work for the Royal Opera House's Write an Opera course, ENO Bayliss, Opera North, Turtle Key, Southwark Council, Creative Partnerships Scottish Opera and Contact Theatre. Most recently I have become involved in developing a charity called CAST (Creative Schools Arts Trust) which is currently developing a programme of creative workshops and teacher inset training in the Palestinian Refugee camps in Lebanon.
